In the north of Provence (Vaucluse), in the regional nature park the Luberon, lie the villages Murs, Joucas and Gordes. In this beautiful region, we have realized our dream with "Les Peyrières et La Beaume". Our house, situated on a hill at 450 meters above sea level, has a magnificent view of the Luberon. After two years of receiving family and friends, we think that the time has come to let others enjoy the view and hospitality as well.

The Luberon stretches over 165,000 hectares, from Cavaillon in the west until Villeneuve in the east, and from Lourmarin in the south until Murs in the north. The Luberon mountains (the Great and Small Luberon) run all the way from Cavaillon to Manosque, over a distance of sixty-five kilometers. Between the Luberon mountains in the south and the Plateau de Vaucluse in the north lies the regional nature park the Luberon. For a long time, this beautiful region has remained unnoticed. It was only after World War II, that many artists and intellectuals discovered the beautiful and tranquil landscape of the Luberon. In 1977, the Luberon was named a regional nature park in order to ward off the negative consequences of mass tourism.

For walkers and wine lovers the "Parc Naturel Régional du Luberon" - with its endless purple lavender fields, numerous olive groves and extensive vineyards - is a region full of treasures which are just waiting to be discovered and enjoyed. During a walk from Roussillon via Gargas and Rustrel to Gignac ("Colorado des Ocres"), you'll see yellow and orange ocre mountains. The wine estates in Roussillon, Bonnieux, Ménerbes and Oppède are a wine lover's paradise. Gordes has been named one of the most beautiful villages in France, and the Abbey of Sénanque is visited by more than a million visitors a year. L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is world-famous for its weekly antiques market. And the Mont Ventoux is only an hour's drive away...
